DERMAL FILLER CORRECTION

Pre-Treatment Advice:

1. Consultation: Schedule a thorough consultation with our practitioner. Discuss your expectations, any previous filler treatments, and your medical history, including allergies and medications.

2. Medications: Avoid blood-thinning and anti-inflammatory medications such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and certain supplements (e.g., Vitamin E, fish oil, St. John’s Wort) for at least a week prior to the treatment to minimize bruising.

3. Skin Products: Stop using any products containing retinol, glycolic acid, or other strong chemicals on the treatment area two days beforehand.

4. Health: Postpone treatment if you have any active skin infections, such as cold sores or acne, near the treatment area.

5. Hydration: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment, as hydrated skin may better respond to filler treatment.

6. Alcohol: Avoid alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours before your treatment to reduce the risk of bruising.

7. Eating: Have a light meal before your treatment to prevent nausea and lightheadedness.

8. Makeup: Come to your appointment without makeup to reduce the risk of infection.

Post-Treatment Advice:

1. Do Not Touch: Avoid touching or massaging the treated area for at least twelve hours following your treatment to minimise the risk of infection.

2. Ice Packs: Apply a cold pack to the treatment area to alleviate swelling or bruising. Do not apply ice directly to the skin; wrap it in a clean paper towel.

3. Activity Limitation: Avoid strenuous activities or excessive heat exposure (like saunas or steam rooms) for 24-48 hours after treatment.

4. Sleeping Position: Sleep with your head elevated and try not to sleep on the treated area for the first night after treatment.

5. Follow-Up Care: Book a follow-up appointment as advised by our medical practitioner to assess results and determine if further correction is necessary. You will need to wait a minimum of 2 weeks from the correction date for re-treatment if you wish to do so.

6. Signs of Complications: Monitor the treated area for signs of infection or complications and contact our clinic immediately if you notice anything unusual.

7. Alcohol and Blood Thinners: Continue to avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications for at least 24 hours after treatment.

8. Hydration: Keep hydrated to support the healing process.

9. Sun Protection: Protect the treatment area from prolonged sun exposure and apply SPF as directed by our practitioner.

10. Makeup: Wait up to 24 hours before applying makeup to the treated area to avoid infection.
